Export your puzzle book as a print-ready PDF

Your book is finished. Now it has to become one PDF that Amazon KDP accepts the first time. The export screen checks your book for you before you upload.

The app renders every page and runs its print checks. On the left you see every page in printing order. On the right, under Before you upload, a summary of your book: the trim size, the page count and the margins.

Anything that would trouble the printer shows up as a card. The checks cover margins that are too small, a gutter that is too narrow for your page count, fewer than twenty four pages, an odd page count, and backgrounds that run to the paper edge without bleed. Some cards have a button that fixes it for you. Here, one click adds a blank page at the end. Other cards tell you on which page the problem sits. Click the card to see that page, fix it in the editor, and come back. Click Refresh to run the checks again.

Print quality has two choices. Draft is a small file for checking on screen. Print ready gives three hundred DPI, with text and grids kept sharp as vector. Turn on Add bleed only when a background is meant to run off the paper edge. Remember to choose bleed on KDP as well. Grey only prints everything in greys, for a black and white interior. A book set to black and white in Book settings always exports that way. When the green bar appears, your book meets KDP's interior requirements.

The app is free to use. Only this last step needs a licence. If this computer is not activated yet, click Activate licence, approve the code in the browser, and the banner finishes by itself. See the pricing page for the current price.

Click Export PDF and choose where to save it. Exporting works offline too. The status line tells you how many pages went out and how big the file is.

That file is your interior. Next, upload it in How to upload your puzzle book to Amazon KDP.
