Importing your own pictures

You can use your own drawings in any book. In the media library, click Add media. It takes three short steps, and nothing is copied until you confirm at the end.

First, choose what kind of media this is. This matters, because the kind decides which puzzles can use the pictures. Click a kind and read what it is for, and which puzzles use it. Single drawings of one object each, like one lion or one balloon, are Count and Colour objects. Those are used by many picture puzzles. A full page to colour in belongs under Colouring pages instead. Then click Next.

Click Choose files and select your pictures. You can pick as many as you like in one go. SVG gives the sharpest print, but PNG works fine. Have a coloured version of a drawing? Give it the same name with underscore colour at the end, like lion and lion underscore colour. The app pairs them up by itself, so the colour version prints in a colour book. For kinds where the order matters, like How to Draw steps, number your files zero one, zero two, zero three before you pick them.

Now name the set and choose a folder. A slash makes a folder inside a folder. Then fill in the theme, age groups and tags. Take a moment here. A new book finds pictures by theme and tags, so a set without them has to be picked by hand every time. Tick Also add these to Elements if you want to place the pictures freely on pages too. Click Add to library.

To add more pictures later, open the set and click Add files. They join the same set, and colour versions pair up with their line drawings here too. Under Make a copy you can also turn a coloured set into a grey copy for a black and white book, or into an outline copy for colouring pages.

Your pictures are ready for your next book. Next, see how to bring in your own scenes in Importing spot the difference scenes.
